The spikes are used to securely fix the LinkEdge into the ground/surface/base, by hammering through the holes located on the bottom base of the LinkEdge. The 300mm long spike is suitable for use on soft ground, when using 40mm or 50mm LinkEdge. For the 75mm & 100mm LinkEdge, the 300mm is the recommended spike.
